Food Service Department: The Learning First Charter Public School is a CEP District (Community Eligibility Provision)
CEP allows the LFCPS district to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without collecting household applications.
CEP is a meal service authorized under the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act (HHFKA). Our meals are at no charge for all students because we know that good nutrition helps students’ attendance, behavior, and academic achievement.
Learning First Charter Public School will be participating in the Fresh Fruit Vegetable Program for 2022-2023. Fresh Fruit/ and or Vegetables will be available for snack time 4-5 servings per week. The goal of the FFVP is to introduce children to fresh fruits and vegetables, to include new and different varieties, and to increase overall acceptance and consumption of fresh, unprocessed produce among children.

Graphic Arts (6-8th Grade) Do you want your child to expand their creative mind? Is your child interested in graphic arts? This year Learning First Charter Public School will be offering a workshop afterschool where students can create digital and physical creative pieces. Scholars will be introduced to Adobe creative programs as well as Cricut Design Space. This will take place on Tuesday afternoons.
Leadership and Mentoring Program (6-8th grade) is a full year program that will be held every Tuesday until 4pm sharp. Students will Learn and practice social skills, building self esteem and self awareness among many other life topics throughout the year.
Intramural Basketball will be played among teams of Learning First students (4th -6th grade). The goal of the intramural programs is to provide a balance of competition and cooperation in a safe, non-threatening atmosphere. Students from all skill levels are encouraged to participate; equal playing time is one of the rules of the program. Typically, each team will play about one-two games per week. There are no practices. These games will be played on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays and end by 3:45.
Lottery Applications for the 2023-2024 School Year are now available! If you have a child or sibling that will turn five years old by August 31, 2023 please go online at https://learningfirstcharter.org/admission/ or come in the Main Office and complete an application. The application deadline is March 1, 2023. All applications require a birth certificate and two proofs of address. Reminders from the School Nurse: Please be sure to send in any updated immunization records for your students or you can fax them to (508)753-9679.
If your child needs any kind of medication during school hours, we will need new doctors’ orders for this year on file.
Bubblers are still down so please send your child in with water.
8th grade families: If you were unable to make it, please check your email (as long as we have the correct one on file) and you should have access to the presentation with a video of me explaining the whole thing. The Affordable Connectivity Program is an FCC benefit program that helps ensure that households can afford the broadband they need for work, school, healthcare and more.
The benefit provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price.

Community Connections: The BIG E is back from September 16th – October 2nd with classic entertainment, exhibits, fair food, rides shipping, agriculture and competitions. The Big E is held at 1305 Memorial Ave, West Springfield, MA. Admission is $15.00 for adults and $10:00 for children ages 6-12. Children under age 5 and under are free. Gates open at 8:00 AM.
Kids Fest 2022 at Wachusett Mountain is September 24-25th from 11:00 AM- 5:00 PM. There will be fun and games for the kids such as an inflatable slide, obstacle course, bungee extreme, SkyRide, fun games, talent show, local mascots, clown and balloon art, crafters and vendors, food vendors and more! Adults (13 yrs and up) are $11.00 in advance or $15.00 at the door, juniors 6-12 years old are $6.00 in advance or $10.00 at the doo
The Friendly House Youth Hoops registration started on September 15th and the League begins on October 11th. It is for grades 2nd-9th. There will be three divisions by grades! (2nd-4th, 5th-6th, 7th-9th). Assessments by grade start September 27th-Ocotber 1st. The cost for the season is $150.00 and includes a team shirt, 12 week league, play offs, and 6 weeks of practice (1x a week). The friendly House is located at 36 Wall St. Worcester. St. Peter’s Parish Youth Basketball Program registration is on Sunday, October 2nd from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM. All registrations will take place in the parish center/ gym at 929 Main Street, Worcester (behind the rectory). Boys and girls 5 to 15 years of age (as of December 31, 2022) are eligible to register.
