Picture Day is this Monday, October 25th! All students will have their picture taken and must be in uniform. We will call classrooms down at the time the teachers signed up for.
If you are interested in purchasing pictures please remember to return the order form that went home with your child and include the payment. Payment can be made with cash, check or money order. You can also order online before picture day by going to www.grynnternet.com and entering code 7E3R5U8 and click login. Please have exact payment when paying cash. The Main Office does NOT have change.
School Happenings: AA Transportation will be coming to the school on Friday, October 29th, to conduct a bus evacuation review. This is a “fire drill” for buses. We will call bus numbers and student that ride that bus will board the bus and practice getting off the back of the bus as they would do if there was an emergency. This is standard procedure and should only take a few minutes per bus.
Lottery Applications for the 2022-2023 School Year are now available! If you have a child or sibling that will turn five years old by August 31, 2022, please complete the attached form and return to the main office or go online at https://learningfirstcharter.org/admission/ . The application deadline is March 2, 2022. All applications require a birth certificate and two proofs of address. Reminder, a new application must be completed for any child that is on the current waitlist.

Grades 7 & 8 will be attending a STEM experience at WPI. The grades will be divided in half and attend on different through December 1st. They will leave for the campus after 9:00 AM, 15 minute STEM presentation, 45 minute STEM activity, 20 minute STEM presentation and a 30 minute campus tour. Students will then head back to the school and eat lunch upon arrival. Permission slips will go home at the end of the month.
Technology: The third week of October is Digital Citizenship Week. It is a good time for us all to be reminded of the need to become good digital citizens who act responsibly online and have good Internet awareness/intelligence. Consider having discussion about Internet safety and good online etiquette with your child(ren). Here are a few resources about becoming a good digital citizen:

Message from the Nurse: Just a friendly reminder that allergy season is among us. If your child has seasonal allergies please give them medication at home, as we do not provide it at school. Please continue to send in physical forms and remember to send your child with a mask each day.
If your child was sent home in school nurses office pants to please send them back in. They have a yellow tag with red writing. The tag says LFCPS.
Reminder! The bubblers are still closed. Please send your child to school with water each day.
Extracurricular Activities: Congratulations to all who made the STOMP team! We are looking forward to a great year. The contract that was sent home needs to be signed and initialed by both parent and child. Please be ready to work hard…pickup each Friday is at 4:00 PM SHARP on Eastern Ave.! Girls Basketball– Conditioning and Skills practices are Mondays and Wednesdays from 4-6pm. Please do not forget to bring water bottles to stay hydrated. Community Connections: The town of West Boylston is holding their Fall Fest on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 12:00 PM- 6:00 PM on the West Boylston Town Common. There will be 30 plus vendors including food trucks, two live bands, tick-or –treating, scarecrow and pumpkin contests and basket raffles. Most of the vendors will be decorating their booths for fall or Halloween. Some will be in costume! There is no rain date. This event will be held in the event of light rain or drizzle. For a heavy rain, they will cancel.
The Worcester Ecotarium is hosting a Science Tricks & Animal Treats on October 23 & 24th from 10:00 AM- 4:30 PM. Join their educators for a science program about animal camouflage, invisible forces, and secret powers, and then join the zookeepers to learn about the treats and training of the animals.
