Dear Families,
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has mandated that all elementary schools (k-5) begin in person, five day a week learning starting on April 5th and middle schools (6-8) on April 26th.
All students k-8 at Learning First Public Charter School will be back in school in person starting on April 5th. We will be back full days Monday-Thursday and half day on Friday – same as it has been for years. Students who return live on the 5th will have the same teachers they have had during remote learning since August. We will be making families aware of the bussing routes in the days to come.
URGENT: In order to get the building ready to have all of the students back on April 5th, we will remain remote until April 5th. WE WILL NOT BE STARTING HYBRID ON MONDAY. We simply cannot get the school ready for all student-in person learning with students in the building. We understand that this will require parents to make different plans for the six days of hybrid learning that will be cancelled (2 days a week for 3 weeks) but we think it is worth it to be able to offer in person learning five days a week on April 5th.
Families who wish to do so may request that their students remain remote for the remainder of the year should they not wish to attend in person. HOWEVER, STUDENTS WHO REMAIN REMOTE WILL NOT HAVE THE SAME TEACHER FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR.
A survey will go out on Monday wherein families can indicate whether they want their students to attend in person or remotely.
Please feel free to email if you have any questions.
Thank you for your patience during this difficult time. We look forward to seeing your kids back full time soon!
