Learning First Charter Public School
Newsletter June 10, 2022
Dear Families,
We have less than two weeks of school remaining. This has been a busy week here at Learning First. On Monday, we had the staff vs. student flag football game. The students put up a great fight but the Staff are once again the reigning champs!
Due to weather, Field Day was held inside this year. Thank you to Ms. Roy and the Parent Guild for doing such an amazing job. The students had a blast.
Today was the last day for our grade 8 students. Graduation will be held on June 14th at Quinsigamond Community College at 10:00 AM. Quinsigamond College has informed us that they have instituted a campus-wide mask mandate policy. All graduates and attendees MUST wear a mask and have a ticket to enter the auditorium.
Due to the numbers of snow days we had this school year, our last day of school is now June 21, 2022. It will be a half day. Dismissal will be at 12:30 PM. There will be no school the day before, June 20th, in observance of Juneteenth.
There is a full day of school for students on June 15th and 16th.
Due to delays in the supply chain, we unfortunately have to delay our move to 50 Richland St. until December 2022. We will begin school in August here at 51 Gage St.
Reminder: School Hours for the 2022-2023 school year will change to 7:30 AM- 2:30 PM Monday through Friday.

Grade 8 families: Mrs. Moore will be hand delivering all student records by the end of next week to the Parent Information Center or their new school for the fall. Please make sure you are calling and making appointments to register your child and meet with a guidance counselor (if they are attending their district public school) to set up their schedule before the summer break begins. Instructions were sent home with your child and emailed to you all as well. If you have any further questions about this process, please reach out to Mrs. Moore at x1112. If you need copies of any of your child’s documents required for registration please call Mrs. Moore or Sally in the main office.
Dismissal Reminder: With the nice weather upon us, classrooms are going to Laurel St. Park or East Park for recess. Please be sure to contact the main office if you expect to dismiss your child to ensure the student is in the building awaiting your arrival.
Reminders from the School Nurse: This week we had 0 cases of Covid-19 in our school. If your student was a close contact then you were notified by the school nurse. It is not required for your child to receive a Covid-19 vaccine, however if your child has had it and you are willing to let us know it would be appreciated and helpful in cases when we need to do contact tracing.
Stay healthy! ~Nurse Sarah and Sammy
