P-EBT: We are aware that our families P-EBT cards have not been funded by the Department Transitional Assistance (DTA). Our student submission was approved and accepted by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) on December 16th. DESE is working with the DTA to determine the issue and we will inform families when it has been resolved.
For the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year, each month DESE will collect the data on the students who are eligible for P-EBT benefits during the prior month. The school will submit the data on the 10th of each month and the DTA will use this data to issue benefits to families on the 25th of each month.
For questions related to P-EBT card status and activation go to https://www.map-ebt.org/
For questions related to lost P-EBT cards go to https://dtaconnect.eohhs.mass.gov/pebt

Important Message from the Nurse: The flu vaccine deadline has been extended to February 28, 2021. Also, we are still missing several physicals for students in kindergarten, 3rd and 7th grade. Please mail, fax to (508) 753-9679 or email schysna@learningfirscharter.org as soon as possible.
K-5 Guidance: Hello K-5 Families! I hope you are all doing well and are having a great start to the New Year. I am writing to let you know that the guidance curriculum will no longer be asynchronous. Starting Monday, January 11th, I will be going into the live morning meetings once a week, biweekly, to do a lesson rather than having students complete the curriculum on their own (or with your help). I thank you and the students for completing the work that you were able to for the first trimester. If you did not get to it I understand and will start with a review so that all students are accessing the same curriculum. I will leave the lessons on each Specials Google Classroom under Guidance so that you can look back at it with your student(s) but there will not be anything new posted there moving forward. I hope this is helpful for everyone and I look forward to seeing the students more frequently! As always, if there are any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out. Email hburgess@learningfirstcharter.org, message me on Dojo, or call/text at 508-762-2543. – Mrs. Burgess

Worcester Technical High School has just released details of their January 13th virtual open house. The flyer is attached below. Parents this is an opportunity for all of you to get any questions you have about the school answered and about their admissions process for this year.
Worcester Public Schools is also having a Career Tech night on the 14th. Please see the flyer attached as well. This is an introduction to their career pathway programs and (I am hopeful) an introduction to the new standardization of all of the admissions processes into the programs.
