Grade 8 Families: Mrs. Moore posted a parent informational webinar about the high school transition process to the 8th grade families email group yesterday. Please watch it to get the most up to date information on all of your public, private, Catholic, and technical school choices. If you did not receive it please update your email address with our tech department and Mrs. Moore.
Thus far these are the only schools that have posted open houses for the fall. If your child is interested in any of these schools, please go online and pre-register.

Student Applications for the 2021-2022 school yearare now available! If you have a child whose sibling is turning five or older by August 31, 2021, please complete an application and return it to the main office or you can go online to https://learningfirstcharter.org/admission/. All applications require a birth certificate and two proofs of address to be complete. Completed applications should be submitted before March 3, 2021. The lottery will be held on March 5, 2021. A new application must be completed for each child, every school year. Please contact the Main Office for more information.
Food Service: Learning First Charter Public School Food Service Department serves free meals (both breakfast & lunch) to all students. Meals will be available for pick up on Eastern Avenue for all Learning First Charter students. Meals will be “grab and go” style and will have 5 breakfast and 5 lunches for the week. There will also be the weekly supply of Fresh Fruit & Vegetables for the FFVP for snack.
Food pickup is available during the following days: Monday 10:00 am – 1:00 pm; Tuesday 10:00 am-1:00 pm; Wednesday 10:00 am- 1:00 pm or 3:30pm-6:00pm; Thursday 10:00 am-1:00 pm. Message from the Nurse: The Department of Public Health has added a new influenza vaccine requirement for all grades of school from Kindergarten through Grade 12. This requirement was put in place to reduce influenza-related morbidity and to reduce the overall impact of respiratory illness in a population still facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Students will be expected to have received an influenza vaccine for the current influenza season (July-June) by December 31 unless they have a medical or religious exemption.
All Kindergarten, grade 3 and grade 7 students must have an updated physical and immunizations on file.
All physicals and immunization records must be fax sent to the school nurse Sarah Chysna, at schysna@learningfirstcharter.org or fax t0 (508) 753-9679.
Any doctor note that excuses an absence should be emailed to Ms. Burgos at jburgos@learningfirstcharter.org.
SEMSAPAC: Our SEMSAPAC team would like to welcome all parents to not only a new year, but also a year in which remote student learning and remote teaching is new to us all. Come join us every Monday through Thursday from 6:00-7:00 pm to an open forum where you will be able to voice any concerns, ask questions, share great ideas and also receive information about community resources. Digital Citizenship Week: This week was Digital Citizenship week. Being a digital citizen is all about taking ownership of our actions and using technology responsibly and respectfully. Community Connections: The Worcester City Fire Department would like to inform residents that if you notice that your smoke detector may need the batteries changed or replaced completely please reach out Katie Harrington, the Worcester Fire Public Educator & CRR. Roll On America roller skating rink located at 90 Duval Rd. in Lancaster, MA, has opened back up. They are having a “Home-Schooled Student Skating Session” on Friday, October 30th from 3:00-5:00 PM. Admission is $7.00 and includes skates. For $5.50 more you can receive 1 game of laser tag and 10 arcade tokens. Non-participation adult chaperones are free to enter. Roll On America is following all the guidelines set forth by the state. Masks are required and they will take temperatures before you enter.
