Congratulations! The Worcester Red Sox created a program to honor “Hometown Heroes” within the community. These are everyday people who demonstrate selfless acts each day, and continue to help our community to grow (especially during a pandemic). Last week, our grade 6 ELA teacher, Rita Sullivan, wrote in to give our charter school the recognition she thought we deserved for our teaching and dedication to our students and their families. She described the countless hours of online teaching, supplying students with laptops and hotspots, trips to student homes, food service, and the list goes on. She was told that four teachers would be invited to Wednesday’s game on May 19, 2021, to represent our charter school. They would be recognized as the Worcester Redsox’s Hometown Heroes. Although only four of us were invited to go (Rita Sullivan, Ashley Simoncini, Katelyn Martin, and Kim Wright), they are not representing their individual roles at our school. They were there to represent over 150 staff members that work together to make our school possible. Thank you for all that you do each day! Go WooSox!

If your child was accepted to Worcester Tech or the WPS Pathways Program please be sure to send back the form accepting their seat. I contacted Tech about our students being unable to access the Google Classroom to take the Math and ELA pre assessment so they are aware. The department heads will contact the students directly. Once all 400 seats are filled they will enroll every student as a WPS student and they will have access to the Google Classroom and get WPS email addresses.
If your child is on the waitlist they still could have a chance to get in during the next round, however if you do not hear anything by the last week of school, you will need to use the enrollment link for WPS and enroll your child in their district public school. The link is below. (If you want to enroll them now and get started you can!) You will need to have all of the documents listed available to you. If you have any issues with the link or uploading documents you can call them and make an appointment to go to the Parent Info Center and enroll them in person.
If your child is on an IEP or receives MSA (EL) services you MUST register them at the parent information center and bring a copy of their latest IEP/ assessment with you.
