Summer P-EBT: The Baker-Polito Administration recently announced that Massachusetts has received federal approval to continue providing Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) benefits to families through summer 2021. Pandemic-EBT is a federal program, jointly administered by the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) and DESE that promotes increased food security for families whose children receive free or reduced-price school meals through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National School Lunch Program. All students who have received P-EBT will be eligible for summer P-EBT, except for those who graduated in 2020 or moved out of Massachusetts. Eligible students will receive a total of $375 in P-EBT benefits in two equal payments of $187.50 this summer. The first payment will be issued on July 1, and the second payment will be issued on August 1.
Summer P-EBT will supplement the Summer Food Service Program (Summer Eats in Massachusetts), a USDA-funded program that provides nutritious meals to children without charge at more than 1,400 sites statewide. As in past years, meals will be provided, at a first-come, first-served basis at the sites and times as available in the following online resource: https://meals4kids.org/summer.

Up-Coming Kindergarten Families for 2021-2022 School Year: We will have an online Kindergarten Information Session Thursday, June 10th, at 6pm and again on Friday, June 11th at 1pm. You only need to attend one session. An autodial will go out on Monday with the information needed to login.

We will be calling families starting next week to schedule your child’s Kindergarten screening date and time for the beginning of the school year. Please contact Sally Ustaitis at ext. 1031 to sign-up.

We are sending out a Kindergarten information packet with all the important start of school information need for your new Kindergartner! We look forward to seeing you all at the information session and are excited to meet your students in August!

8th grade families:  Please mark your calendar for the following dates:

The grade 8 students last day of school will be this coming Thursday June 10th. They must report to school on that day. The next day on Friday June 11th, we will have a drive up graduation for students. (There is no school for grade 8 students on that day). The drive up graduation will take place on Eastern Avenue from 9:30-11:00am.

We are in the last week of school now, so it is time to make sure you enroll your child into their new high school! If they have already been accepted into a school of choice they are enrolled as long as you have sent in the form accepting their seat.

If they are on a waitlist or have not applied to any schools, you must enroll them in their district high school. If you do not, and you wait, they will NOT have a schedule in the fall.

I have already met with all of the 8th graders numerous times and am sending home (either with them or through email) a letter with explicit instructions on the enrollment process.

If your child is on and IEP or receives MSA (ELL) services you will need to register them in person. You will also need all of the required documents.

After they are enrolled, they will need to meet with a guidance counselor at the school to fill out a course selection sheet to choose classes for the fall. Please do not skip this step! This must be done before the end of the school year, the Guidance staff do not work all summer.

Mrs. Moore will hand deliver your child’s records to their new high school the Monday after graduation. Please contact her with any questions.
